Welcome to the new and improved website for Queen's Legacy Foundation! We felt it was time for an upgrade, and we hope you love it just as much as we do! The organization has been busy creating new partnerships, providing access to more resources, and improving the lives of our community members.
In the first few months of 2021, we have awarded $2,000 in housing assistance to families in the BIPOC Community, continued mentoring young girls (grades 6-8) throughout the week virtually, and distributed $1,800 of food to individuals and families with food insecurities. We also unveiled our new LOGO, designed by Emily Shirtz, and partnered with the CEC of Fort Collins to celebrate Women's History Month.
While we continue to ensure BIPOC individuals and families are well supported, we have focused our efforts on stopping the spread of COVID-19. Black, Indigenous, and People of Color are twice as likely to contract COVID-19, three times more likely to be hospitalized for treatment in comparison to White Americans, and lead the nation in deaths from COVID-19. As a team, we are all too familiar with the inequity in our healthcare system, this only drives us to be more active in combatting the prevalence of those inequities as the world works to stop the spread of COVID-19. QLF has connected with other community organizations to assist in educating the community, as well as provide them with testing and vaccination opportunities. Visit our page "Stop the Spread of COVID-19" found in the 'More' section at the top, to stay up to date with our individual efforts as well as information related to COVID-19.
